64 Audio is finally here and has definitely been making waves. To get you up-to-speed on the cutting-edge tech this brand embraces, we thought we’d create a mini-series on it. Let’s start with ‘tia’.
tia or tubeless in-ear audio offers an extended soundstage with a smooth frequency response. It allows the sound waves to travel to the ear in a natural way, almost as if the musician was performing near you. This system offers high-resolution audio with openness and a wider soundstage while reducing unwanted resonances. It uses three core elements - open drivers, a single-bore design and acoustic chambers.
tia Driver
This features an open balanced armature design that ensures higher resolution and lower vibrations and resonances. With an open BA driver, the diaphragm is entirely open for better transparency, unlike that experienced with a closed BA driver. It also does away with conventional sound tubes and dampers.
The large single-bore design serves as a sound-shaping chamber and eliminates unwanted tube resonance. It helps the tia high-frequency driver deliver a linear and coherent frequency response with a remarkable high-frequency extension thanks to its extremely short sound path. It also prevents clogging at the tip and in turn, sound obstruction.
tia Acoustic Chambers
These chambers optimise the driver's performance while further enhancing the sound quality. Each driver is perfectly matched to its acoustic chamber and tuned to reduce unwanted resonances. It effectively delivers an unmatched 3D-like soundstage.
The 64 Audio Trio and Fourte use the entire tia system while the U18s, U18t, U12t, U6t, Nio and Duo use a combination of the tia open drivers and single-bore design.
Of course, 64 Audio has a whole lot more in terms of awesome sound tech. So, stay tuned for Part 2!
