Introduction
Letshuoer has recently introduced the Letshuoer S08, a 13mm planar driver-based IEM. Previously, Letshuoer had launched the successful S12 Pro and S15 planar IEMs. The S08 features a fourth-generation planar driver and is priced at ₹8490 in India.
Design and Build Quality
The Letshuoer S08 boasts a high-quality, lightweight metal shell, available in black and silver. The faceplate features an "S" design, with the brand logo on the right and the brand name engraved on the left. The package includes a modular cable with both 3.5mm and 4.4mm audio jacks. The cable feels premium and sturdy. The carry case is made from high-quality plastic with a matte black finish and a silicone interior for shock absorption and protection. The stock eartips are also of excellent quality. Overall, the IEM design is simple yet premium, and the cable is impressive. The package and accessories are of high quality.
Comfort and Fit
The Letshuoer S08 has a capsule-shaped shell of medium size. I found it comfortable for long listening sessions. The inner shell has a curvy design that fits well and provides decent external sound isolation. However, the nozzle felt slightly short for me, so I used SpinFit W1 eartips for deeper insertion.
Sound Quality
I burned in the Letshuoer S08 for over 10 hours before listening. For my sessions, I used a Hiby R4 DAP as the source, the stock cable with a 4.4mm jack, and SpinFit W1 eartips. The Letshuoer S08 delivers a V-shaped sound that is engaging, musical, and detailed. The bass is rumbling with impressive impact for a planar driver IEM. The midrange is warm, textured, and slightly recessed, while the treble is smooth and detailed.
Bass
Given the planar driver, I expected less powerful bass, but the Letshuoer S08 surprised me with its clean, fast, and rumbly bass. Both sub-bass and mid-bass are well-represented, though sometimes the impact feels less compared to dynamic driver IEMs. Overall, it offers balanced bass with extra rumble and warmth, making it very engaging.
Midrange
The midrange on the Letshuoer S08 is well-tuned, warm, well-rounded, and detailed, though slightly recessed for my preference. The midrange has good weight and body, with no thinness in female and male vocals. There is no noticeable shoutiness or sibilance. Overall, the midrange is well-tuned.
Treble
The treble on the Letshuoer S08 is safely tuned with controlled energy. Many planar magnetic IEMs have high treble energy that can sound bright and fatiguing, but Letshuoer has addressed this issue. While the treble body and weight are slightly thin, it remains impactful. Treble extension is somewhat average, but instruments sound natural and realistic, with smooth, rounded edges.
Soundstage & Imaging
The soundstage is average, lacking in height and depth, while imaging is decent.
